We started letting commercial property in Yorkshire in 1989, with one site and a small number of tenants. The approach has not changed since: buy buildings with good bones, bring them up to standard, and look after the businesses that move in.
Marshall Mill in Holbeck is a good example of what that looks like. The mill was part of the wider regeneration of the area, and the work there taught us how much a well-run Victorian building can still offer a modern business. We have applied the same thinking at Cardigan Mills.

We show you the unit ourselves. You will see the real space, the access, the parking and the neighbours, and you can ask about anything from three-phase power to bin collections on the spot.
We set out the terms in writing: rent, length, notice, rates and what is included. If something does not suit, say so and we will look at it. We would rather adjust the terms than lose a good tenant.
The unit is cleaned, checked and handed over with keys and any access codes. If it needs a small alteration before you start, we will usually sort it as part of the let.
We manage the estates ourselves, so when you ring you speak to the people responsible for the building. Repairs get logged and dealt with, and we come out to see the problem when it needs seeing.
